| Will PSLNet save me time? | ||
Absolutely! PSLnet is simple, easy to use and fast. It gives you the same convenience in dealing with OTC and direct suppliers as you have enjoyed for the past 15 years with the major pharmaceutical wholesalers.
The process of ordering and dealing with a wide range of suppliers can be completely automated into one easy process. The time taken to receive shipments onto your shelves is also dramatically simplified. The information needed to check orders and invoices is electronically delivered into the pharmacy POS / Inventory system. No typing errors, no duplicated data and order entry, no coding problems. PSLnet makes reconciliation of new stock faster and far easier and makes doing business simpler, thus saving you time and effort in the pharmacy. |
| Is the system secure? | ||
| Yes, orders are encrypted to an exacting 128-bit standard, the same standard used in Internet banking. The encrypted information is then transmitted via the purpose-built PSLPost software that lives in your pharmacy to the PSLnet Central exchange via the Internet.
PSLPost provides your secure connection, supplier authentication and makes sure you get the right information to and from your suppliers. PSLnet automatically ensures that your order is received correctly, without loss, duplication or manipulation. The PSLnet Exchange distributes orders to the right supplier. It keeps track of where your orders are so you can look up the order status on PSLnet at any time. Shipping and invoice information is returned to you via the same secure electronic route. |
| Do I have to be connected to the Internet all the time? | ||
| No. The order and receiving process can be done at any time. The PSLnet transmission can take place immediately or at a later time, whenever the PSLPost software sees you are connected to the Internet. A standard low-speed dial-up Internet connection is all that is required. It does not need to be a permanent connection. | ||
| Who can I trade with? | ||
PSLnet is in the process of connecting some of the major suppliers to Pharmacy in Australia. Our supplier and pharmacy numbers are growing daily But remember, pharmacists created PSLnet to help in the daily operation of their business. Our pharmacists are inviting those suppliers that provide value to their business to join PSLnet. They are also inviting their professional colleagues to join so that the benefits spread right across their industry. Remember, it is pharmacists who will nominate the suppliers they need on PSLnet to make their businesses more efficient. |
| How do I connect to PSLnet? | ||
For pharmacists, the POS (Point-of-Sale) system is the easiest way to connect to PSLnet. PSLnet then allows you to place orders and receive invoice data back in exactly the same way you have been doing with the major pharmaceutical wholesalers for the past 15 years. If your POS system allows you to place electronic orders on the major wholesalers now, then you can join PSLnet quickly and easily. We will do the work and coordinate with your POS system vendor to get you on board. Just call PSLnet, send an email or fill out the registration |
| How much control do I have over the order process? | ||
The PSLnet program allows pharmacists to place orders and receive shipping and invoice information electronically with your OTC suppliers. Control of the order, quantities, pack sizes, delivery instructions and shipping details remain in the hands of the pharmacy. Once the order is placed, however, PSLnet is no different to normal trading terms: your order becomes a legal commitment by you to purchase from the supplier in the same way as you do business with that supplier now. |
| What about manual orders? | ||
| Orders can be made manually in much the same way
as they are produced now. Pharmacy can send these orders through to the supplier
in the same way they do now, eg fax or the rep.
PSLnet can bring back the shipping details on the order, giving the pharmacy timely information on when it should arrive and allowing a simple electronic take-up of the information into the POS system. No more manual data entry is necessary. |
| Does PSLNet take care of delivery as well? | ||
| Suppliers' existing arrangements for delivery remain in place. PSLnet manages all the communications aspects of the ordering and fulfillment process, but is not involved in the physical movement of goods. | ||
| How much will PSLNet save me? | ||
| Our pharmacists tell us that PSLnet delivers cost savings of between $600 and $1200 per month depending on how much time your staff spend handling paper, what your OTC sales turnover is and how many OTC suppliers you deal with each month. | ||
| Do I have to sign a long-term contract? | ||
The minimum pharmacy contract period for PSLnet is 12 months. Once this minimum period expires, you can cancel the PSLnet service at any time with one month's notice.
